Nov 08, 2018

The time has come to deck the halls, and jingle your bells- the holidays are right around the corner! No tradition marks the beginning of the season quite as merrily as the Macy’s Holiday Parade. And while New York has certainly set the standard, Seattle has its own version of this wonderous and family-friendly celebration. Now in its 28th year, Seattle’s Macy’s Holiday Parade returns the day after Thanksgiving, this year it falls on November 23rd, from 9am to approximately 11am in downtown Seattle. Gather up your family, grab a warm beverage, and get ready to get in the spirit!  This free for all ages event is a festive way to kick off the holiday season- and get you in the mood for a month of excitement in Seattle with inflatable floats, local marching bands, costumed characters, pro sports teams, community drill teams… and the celebratory finale Kris Kringle on his sleigh!

The parade route beings on the corner of 7th Ave. and Pine St., travels west down Pine to 5th Ave., south on 5th to University to 4th Ave., and then north on 4th before Santa makes his final stop at the Macy’s Department Store

The fun does not end when the parade does, next you can kick off your holiday shopping at Westlake Center!  Take advantage of special offers, live entertainment and more Santa sightings!  At 4:45pm, the afternoon concludes with the lighting of the Macy’s Holiday Star and Westlake Center’s holiday tree, a Seattle tradition for over 60 years!
