Enjoy a Holiday Evening in the Garden at Bellevue Botanical Garden’s Garden d’Lights

Dec 07, 2018

Towering twinkling flowers, peacocks all aglow, sparkling spiders and bright butterflies in flight  light up the night this holiday season at the 24th annual Garden d’Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.  A stroll through this magical garden is a unique take on Christmas.  While you won’t see as many Santas and Frosties- you’ll feel like your peeking into a glowing wonderland- and there is certainly no shortage of holiday spirit in the over half a million lights!

A Little History

Over 300,000 guests enjoy the Bellevue Botanical Gardens each year, but the shorter (and colder) winter days, were getting far less visitors. So in 1994, a nuclear engineer along with a team of volunteers brought the garden to life at the very first Garden d’Lights! This year, over 37 nights, 90,000 guests are expected to enjoy the festivities, which are designed by more than 30 volunteers over a period of 11 months!

Garden Aglow

Critters abound at Garden d’Lights and you can download a map here (or grab one at the entrance). Some favorites are the Aquarium swimming with over 19 different lighted features and the Snap d’Dragon which is made up of over 8,850 lights.

Enjoy live music provided by a variety of ensembles including Bellevue Chamber Chorus, Newport High School String & Woodwinds, the Emerald City Ringers and many more.  Check out the entertainment schedule here

Tickets are available for purchase at the display entrance on a first-come, first-served basis.  However, to avoid lines- you can purchase online here.  Tickets are just $5 per person over age 11, and can be used any evening the event is running.
