While in some cities Thanksgiving might be the biggest dining event of the year, in Seattle one of the most delicious times comes at the end of March! It’s Taste Washington, the dining extravaganza that will tempt your tastebuds with over 235 wineries, 65 restaurants and some of the nation’s most talented chefs all cooking and pouring up a feast.
This year, Taste Washington offers a variety of mouth-watering experiences at various locations from March 28th through the 31st. Below are some of the Taste Washington events taking place around the city:
Red and White Party
Taste Washington kicks off Thursday, March 28 from 7 to 10pm at AQUA by El Gaucho. This exclusive VIP experience is an opportunity to taste the best of the best. Deck yourself out in red and white attire for this fashionable evening where the area’s most revered winemakers’ offer tastes of their most-coveted bottles, including wine club-only bottles and 90+ point pours, paired with delicious El Gaucho fare.
On the Farm
On Friday, March 29th choose from two different farm excursions, were you will visit a local farm to learn more about the farm-to-table movement. Get a farm tour before you gather around the dining table with farmers, winemakers and chefs to get a “hands-on” view of sourcing, production, and creating the finished product. You’ll enjoy a hand-crafted lunch paired with local wine.
The New Vintage
The evening of March 29th provides an opportunity to enjoy stories in the form of food and wine and mingle with some of Seattle’s star chefs and winemakers (including Ethan Stowell and Rachel Yang). The New Vintage will take place at The Sanctuary Seattle from 7-10pm and includes wine cocktails and exclusive bites.
The ultimate dining event, this is your chance to taste and sip some of the best that the area has to offer. March 30th and 31st, sample the offerings of over 235 restaurants and 65 wineries from 2:30 to 6pm at CenturyLink Field Event Center. The event also includes seminars and chef demonstrations, and an extra hour of entry with purchase of a VIP ticket.
Tom Douglas and a culinary pal from Boston celebrate the Red Sox being in Seattle for opening weekend with a “Coast to Coast” themed brunch at the Palace Ballroom from 10:30am to 12:30pm. The bi-coastal brunch menu will be served family style with brunch cocktails.
