Chugga, chugga, choo choo… it’s time for the 45th annual Model Railroad Show at the Pacific Science Center January 19th through the 21st. Meet dozens of model railroaders and experience magical displays from some of the best in the area.
The trains may be miniature, but wonder and delight abound. Here are just a few of the ways you can explore:
Get hands-on: The Cascades-N-Western display gives visitors the opportunity to operate trains, as well as learn how scenery and layout construction is designed.
Become an expert: Visit the Build-A-Dream and National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) displays where NMRA experts will show the steps of constructing and operating a model railroad, as well as answer all of the budding model-trainers questions.
Take a dive into history: The Northwest Public Transportation Group display takes a visual journey back in time to the early days of the railroad through artifacts and historical photos.
Safety First: Safety is paramount on the railroad. Operation Lifesaver takes a closer look at the rules of the rails, and the importance of staying safe.
Mini Modelers: Even the youngest visitors will get a chance to go hands-on at Train Mania, designed for easy operation.
